Michelin has announced that The Pointer in Brill, Buckinghamshire, is its Pub of the Year 2018 from its Eating Out in Pubs Guide 2018.
Selected from over 470 pubs around the UK, The Pointer is run by a young team. The pub, which is owned by David and Fiona Howden, has its own 240-acre farm where they raise and breed award-winning cattle and pigs. It’s thought that the Great Train Robbery was planned here – and that the stolen money was divided up here too.
“Not only is it a delightful place, but it is exceedingly well run by a young, personable team,” says Rebecca Burr, editor of the Michelin Eating Out in Pubs Guide. “They really pay attention to detail and nothing is ever too much trouble for them.”
