Whitbread has launched its newest brand – Cookhouse and Pub – with an opening in the Midlands.
Cookhouse and Pub will offer quality food and service in an informal, all-day way. The new concept, a trial for Whitbread, is specifically designed to meet the needs of Premier Inn and local guests. The first site to open will be in Oldbury, West Midlands, with further openings scheduled for Holystone in Tyneside, Ripley in Derbyshire and Kilmarnock over the next few months.
The 4,519 sq ft, 237-cover Oldbury site has been developed by JMDA and includes a 41-cover bar, a large open kitchen and bespoke designs throughout.
“We’re hugely excited to have launched the first Cookhouse and Pub in the Midlands and we’re on course to open three more over the coming months,” says Sarah Tinsley, head of strategy and innovation at Whitbread Restaurants. “We feel this is a new, bold and revolutionary concept in the pub restaurant market, which we hope will be welcomed with open arms. It’s a fantastic opportunity for guests to eat out for less and experience the quality of our food in a relaxed, friendly and welcoming environment.”
