Liberation Group has bought eight English pubs owned and operated by SA Brain for an undisclosed sum.
The company, which owns Butcombe Brewery, intends to add the pubs bought from the Welsh brewer and pub operators to its Butcombe estate .
The eight pubs include six managed sites, consisting of The Smoking Dog in Malmesbury, The Bear in Cirencester, The Bowl in Almondsbury, which features includes 11 bedrooms, The Ostrich in Bristol, The Jubilee in Flax Bourton and The White Horse in Buckover. The two tenanted pubs are The Langford in Lower Langford and The Old Station in Hallatrow.
Seven are freehold and one is leasehold. Butcombe has more than doubled its pub estate over the last year, while this purchase sees Brains lose the majority of its English pubs.
