NewRiver has reopened The White Swan near Bristol after a £50,000 refurbishment.
The pub, which reopened last week, has been run by publican Andy Clough for six years and is thought to be up to 200 years old. The investment saw a redecoration of the internals and externals, as well as new signage and lighting, new fixed seating, a new bay floor and a new kitchen, which will serve filled rolls, pies and finger food. Structural repairs have also been carried out.
The White Swan has four draught ciders, backed up with real ales and lagers, while it also supports two darts teams, hosts live music regularly and offers live sport.
“Andy has clearly done a sterling job since taking on The White Swan,” comments David Shipton, asset development director for NewRiver’s pub portfolio. “So when he signed a new, longer term tenancy agreement, we were more than happy to back his commitment with our own, and invest in the pub to rejuvenate it with a much-needed makeover.”
