Great Shefford brings in Hand & Flowers chef

The Great Shefford in Berkshire has appointed Sam Cary as its new head chef.

The Great Shefford in Berkshire has appointed Sam Cary as its new head chef.

Having previously worked at Tom Kerridge’s Hand & Flowers in Marlow and Watley Manor, Cary has drawn on his years of previous experience to create accessible yet refined dining options at the gastropub, dictated by the seasons.

A new menu will focus on the chef's love of utilising British produce, which the venue hopes will elevate modern British pub food to new and exciting heights.

Located in the Lambourn Valley on the Berkshire Downs, The Great Shefford is set against the backdrop of a brook flowing alongside the restaurant.

“Having Sam now lead the kitchen at The Great Shefford makes me feel like Alex Ferguson when he signed David Beckham," says Joshua Khan. "We are delighted to welcome him to the kitchen and are excited about what he brings to The Great Shefford.”
