Chickpea Group opens doors to Dorset pub

Chickpea Group has reopened The Fleur de Lys in Cranbourne.

The Fleur de Lys pub in Cranbourne, Dorset, has reopened, following an extensive renovation from new operators Chickpea Group

It's the group's ninth pub with rooms and the 11th in its estate, including the restaurant for its pizza business Nole

Chickpea's first pub with rooms in the county, The Fleur De Lys sits centrally in the village and includes many period features. It had previously been closed for six months and now features nine bedrooms.

"We are really excited to be opening our first pub with rooms in Dorset," says Ethan Davids, co-founder of Chickpea Group. "The Fleur de Lys is a lovely boozer in a pretty and thriving village, and we’re very pleased to be reopening it for the community and for visitors from further afield.

"It offers everything we look for in a Chickpea country pub, exposed beams, low ceilings, a number of fireplaces and quintessentially British charm."

The inside has around 80 covers for drinks and dining, including a private dining, which can accommodate up to 12 guests.

The main bar boasts exposed beams dressed with hops, dark green wood paneling, an open fire and banquette seating. Outside are a further 100 covers, including a sheltered garden to the rear of the pub.

The bedrooms above the pub feature eclectic artwork sourced by Chickpea co-founder Tommy Tullis, handmade curtains and upholstery, soft furnishings and armchairs. All the bedrooms have king size beds with feather down bedding, Moroccan rugs and en-suite bathrooms.

Food at the pub has been devised by executive chef Jamie McDougall and the kitchen will be run by head chef Sean Evergreen. Front-of-house will be overseen by general manager Andy Collins.
