NEOS takes Walkabout site in Brighton
NEOS Hospitality will open its fifth Barbara’s Bier Haus in Brighton.
As it continues with its estate overhaul and expansion, nightlife operator NEOS Hospitality has acquired the former Walkabout site on Brighton's West Street.
The £1.5m investment will see the venue transformed into the group's fifth Barbara's Bier Haus, the après ski inspired party bar, and marks its second acquisition of 2025.
The opening will bring NEOS’s total venue count to 19 across the UK, following the September launch of Bonnie Rogues and Circuit in Kingston, which previously operated as PRYZM.
"Acquiring the former Walkabout site is another important move for NEOS and will be a strong addition to our Brighton cluster," says Russell Quelch, CEO of NEOS Hospitality. "We see Brighton as a key market and have plans to further develop our key concepts in the city.
"Trading levels in the first half of 2025 have been ahead of expectations and we have a strong pipeline in place to further develop the portfolio over the next 12 months.”

The West Street venue will be completely reimagined, with Barbara's signature themed design and après ski entertainment concept, ahead of its opening later this year.
The brand has so far experienced success in Bournemouth, Birmingham, Cardiff and Bristol, targeting the evening social and late-night entertainment crossover market.
Formed in 2024 when the company separated from its owner, the Danish REKOM Group, NEOS Hospitality has a portfolio of 19 venues, including modern party bars and a small group of late-night venues.
The group operates a range of core brands, including Bonnie Rogues, Barbara’s Bier Haus and Circuit.
