New managing director for Coaching Inn Group

The Coaching Inn Group has promoted Adam Charity to managing director.

The Coaching Inn Group, the pubs-with-rooms business that forms part of RedCat Hospitality, has promoted chief operating officer Adam Charity to managing director.

Originally joining the business in 2008, working behind the bar at the White Hart in Boston, Charity has progressed through the ranks of the group, being appointed as chief operating officer in March 2024.

In his new role, he will lead The Coaching Inn Group as it looks to expand and drive growth.

The business has recently returned to the acquisition trail with the purchase of the Warwick Arms Hotel earlier this year. The hotel recently reopened following a £1.7m refurbishment.

“I am incredibly proud and excited to start in my new role, working with our wonderful teams to help the business grow and expand, while maintaining our unique culture and philosophy of ‘hospitality from the heart’, which is what makes us so special," says Charity.

“Our strategy of blending heritage and charm with modern luxury to create unique and memorable stays, is a winning one and I am very much looking forward to finding new locations where we can unlock potential and consolidate our position as a leader in the domestic leisure market.”

Breaking records

The news of Charity’s promotion follows a strong Q2 performance for the business, with total Coaching Inn Group like-for-like sales up 5.4% and accommodation life-for-like sales up 10.1% over the period.

“I am delighted to announce Adam’s appointment as managing director of The Coaching Inn Group," adds Richard Lewis, CEO of RedCat Hospitality. "The promotion recognises his vital role in the recent success and growth of the company, leading the business to two record breaking years for sales and confirming its status as one of the leading pubs-with-rooms operators in the UK.

“I have no doubt that he is the best person to take the business to the next level, as we look to grow and build on everything we have achieved so far.”
