Young's readies The Stag in Hampstead for reopening

Young’s pub The Stag in Hampstead will reopen in January.

Hampstead local The Stag will reopen its doors on 22 January, following a refurbishment from owner Young's Pubs

New features include a whole floor dedicated to house parties, a significant upgrade to the garden, a rotating line-up of craft beers on tap and a seasonally changing martini menu.

Inside, there are carefully restored original features including the signature mounted stags, ornamental mirrors and open fireplaces.

Outside, the pub’s beer garden now has the addition of a dedicated bar and outdoor screens for key sporting fixtures, including the upcoming Six Nations. The new Garden Room, with cobblestone floors, fireplace and retractable awnings, can be hired privately.

What about the food?

Designed for sharing and inspired by the team’s travels, highlights of the new food menu include a tear-and-share Stag Bag (a nod to the Irish spice bag), rotisserie chicken dishes and Stag chicken wings.

There will also be a lunchtime toastie lineup, while on Sundays, the roasts are back with selection of premium cuts.

On the first floor, guests can find ‘Upstairs at The Stag’, a private event space. Spread across three connected spaces, it’s designed to be a 'personal playground', with a kitchen area complete with vintage fridge and a butcher’s block for food and drinks packages; a living room; and a private chequerboard.

The upstairs space also has its own beer taps and the option book a DJ.
