Livelyhood, the six-strong independent south London pub group, has released its latest financial year figures ahead of a new opening scheduled for 2020.

The year ending 31 July 2019 saw the group open its sixth local pub, The Perky Nel, by Clapham South underground station. And founder Sarah Wall has revealed that plans are already underway to open the group’s seventh site.

Group turnover increased by more than £1.5m for the period, with the year’s combined revenue totalling £7,434,964 compared to £5,897,385 the year before.

“This has been an important year for Livelyhood,” says Wall. “The various challenges across the hospitality sector, particularly facing pubs, means that we’re constantly reviewing how we operate and how we can continue to improve in order to best serve our communities. Adding The Perky Nel to the Livelyhood family in February meant that, along with The Faber Fox in Crystal Palace, we now have two sites with exceptional outdoor space that has allowed us to continue to see strong trading figures throughout the summer months. I’m excited to be bringing another site into the Livelyhood fold in 2020, more on which will be revealed soon.”
