Richmond pub receives half a million refurb

The Black Lion Hotel in Richmond recently unveiled its new look.

The Black Lion Hotel in Richmond recently unveiled its new look, following a £500,000 investment from operators Punch Pubs & Co.

The pub and its 14 guest rooms were transformed to revitalise the historic site, which is being run by licensee Michaela Sheehan.

Inside, the bar and restaurant has been modernised to enhance the character of the 17th century coaching inn.

"We're incredibly proud to have been able to significantly invest in this pub and offer visitors to the town a beautiful place to stay and spend their time," says Punch senior operations manager Jannine Leadbetter. "The Black Lion is a pub for all and its new menu and revitalised and characterful features make it somewhere really special. With Michaela leading the way, I have no doubt that this pub will thrive at the heart of its community, ensuring its success for many years to come."

Ever-popular with walkers and cyclists travelling into town to take in the scenery Richmond has to offer, guests can now extend their stay in the enhanced accommodation and take advantage of the brand new menu.

New dishes include takes on traditional favourites like a handmade steak and ale pie and buttery mashed potato.
