Tom Kerridge and Larry Lamb create Xmas burger

Larry Lamb has teamed up with Tom Kerridge to create the ‘Three Bird Roast’ burger.

Michelin-starred chef Tom Kerridge has revealed a number of festive specials at his Chelsea pub The Butcher’s Tap and Grill

This December, actor and radio presenter Larry Lamb will team up with the pub to create the ‘Three Bird Roast’ burger.

Between two brioche buns, it features turkey, duck and a chicken patty, finished with Wensleydale cheese, cranberry sauce and creamed sprouts, served with a pig in a blanket on top of the bun and a side of dipping gravy.

Throughout the month, £1 from each burger sold will be donated to GROW, a charity and agroecological farm that facilitates sustainable food growing and educational programs. Working with The Totteridge Academy, local schools and the wider community, GROW provides children, young people and families who experience barriers to the outdoors with access to healthy living, learning and employment.

"Christmas at The Butcher’s Tap and Grill Chelsea is such a special time of year," says Kerridge. "Our forest-themed decorations make it the perfect place to meet with friends and family over delicious food, drinks and steaming cups of mulled wine. I’m excited for our guests to try Larry’s Triple Bird Roast burger which supports such an important charity in the UK."

The power of burgers

The news come at a time when burgers continue in popularity and power across the pub and bar industry.

In October 2024, the National Burger Awards held its Champion of Champions 10-year anniversary celebration, which was won by husband and wife outfit Whole Beast, operating out of Peckham's The Montpelier pub.

Upon winning the awards, the independent business saw its best ever week of sales rocket from 221 burgers to 576.

Pub and bar operators have until 31 December to enter the 2025 National Burger Awards.
