Hall & Woodhouse opens £5m restaurant

Hall & Woodhouse has opened a new restaurant, café and bar in Crowthorne, Berkshire.

Following eight months of construction and a £5m investment, pub operator Hall & Woodhouse has opened a new restaurant, café and bar in Crowthorne, Berkshire.

The new venue is a two-storey restaurant for up to 150 seated covers near Buckler’s Forest, a 102-hectare Forestry Commission site.

It will be overseen by Sian Grantham, the restaurant and bar’s new general manager, who brings over 25 years of experience in the hospitality industry from brands including Carluccio’s and Cosy Club.

"We are so proud of what we have designed at H&W Crowthorne," says Mark James, property director of Hall & Woodhouse. "The entire project has been driven by our passion to build something special, somewhere warm and inviting that reflects the local environment and its heritage, but with a contemporary twist. We hope that all of our new guests feel at home here and that H&W Crowthorne will be at the very heart of the community."

More about the £5m venue

Hall & Woodhouse Crowthorne has five different multi-functioning spaces. These areas include a bar, a pantry for brunch and dining or drinks, and a dining space. There is also a library nook for cake and coffee. Outside is an extensive terrace and a large garden.

The restaurant’s décor takes inspiration from its surroundings, with nods to both its recent history as a site close to the old Transport Research Laboratory, and its ancient history when the area was used as a hunting ground by the old kings of England.

Hall & Woodhouse says sustainability was a key consideration for the design. Solar roof panels now generate enough green energy to run the building’s heating system. The building has LED lighting, a sustainable waste disposal, upcycled materials and furniture, and outdoor bike parking.
